"Where were you all night?" she demanded, standing up to confront her roommate. Ally was a good five inches taller and over two years older than Jasmine.
"Ally, you knew that I was going to a club with AJ. Remember how happy you were that Brian could come over?"
"Yes but that doesn't explain where you were all night. Please don't tell me that you went home with some guy."
"For your information, I did go home with a guy." Ally looked ready to slap her. "It was AJ. We went back to his place to watch a movie but both of us ending up falling asleep."
"Well, then you got some sleep. I'm giving you half an hour to get ready." Jasmine opened her mouth to finish her story but Ally stopped her. "Tell me later."
"Once a big sister, always a big sister," Jasmine muttered as she headed for the bathroom. After the shower, she got dressed and then went to the kitchen to eat. She pulled a bag of frozen waffles from the freezer and dropped them into the toaster. After sticking the syrup in the microwave, she checked in on Ally, who still looked pissed so Jasmine stayed in the kitchen.
She walked over to the radio and turned it on. Brian McKnight's Back at One came on and she started to sing along with him.
"Please," said Ally as she walked into the small kitchen. "Brian McKnight sings the song and let's leave it at that." The girls laughed.
"So, you're not mad?" asked Jasmine as she started to drown her waffles in syrup.
"No. Now what were you going to tell me before you got in the shower?"
Jasmine's eyes flashed with excitement and the girls leaned in towards each other to share the information.
"While AJ and I were watching the movie, I fell asleep. When I woke up this morning, AJ was laying next to me and…Ally, I was so right! It was so awesome and amazing and indescribable and…"
"What was? What were you right about?"
"Remember when we met and I asked you if AJ was a good kisser?" Ally's eyes widened with realization. "He's an awesome kisser!"
"You kissed AJ! I didn’t know that…"
"Neither did I! I wouldn't have though in a million years that we would be dating. I mean, ya know?"
"I know. I mean, I didn't realize how much I loved Brian until the surgery. Well, congrats."
"Thank you!" Jasmine said, beaming. "Now let's shop!
